PRODUCT, DESIGN AND TECHNOLOGY
Made in Italy
Twentyfirst is a brand of Elbi S.p.a., and represents one of the company's four business units. The other three are: Termoidraulica, dedicated to the world of Plumbing and Heating; the line Aquapura which includes products for the treatment of wastewater and metorific water; division Ambiente, related mostly to public agencies and dealing with the production of bins, waste collection bells and geodes for underground.
History
THE ORIGINS OF A TYPICALLY ITALIAN, FAMILY-OWNED BUSINESS.
The company was founded in 1965 by the desire of the founder Luigi Brustio to transform his skills as a professional craftsman in the thermo-hydraulic sector into an entrepreneurial activity.
Its activity develops in a few years establishing itself at an inter-regional level in the sector of the production of thermo-sanitary items.
In 1989 the company embarked on a new adventure with the processing of plastic materials and manufacturing rotational-molded polyethylene tanks.
In 1990 Elbi of America, Inc. is founded in Houston, Texas. In 1996 Elbi of America becomes the official manufacturing headquarters for the fixed bladder tanks, thus bringing production closer to the target market.
The production of pots and planters with rotational molding technology began in 1994. Since then the offer has continuously expanded and renewed over time, without ever stopping. Today the 21st collection is among the largest and most complete on the market, both in terms of styles and designs, and in terms of color range.
In 2001 a new production facility is opened nearby the city of Bari, in southern Italy, and its activity is mainly dedicated to the manufacture of containers made of rotational-molded polyethylene. Here resides the plant for the extrusion and pulverization of polyethylene granules, the raw material that feeds the rotomolding production process. In this very plant operates Europe's largest rotational plant.
Our many years of experience have enabled us to increase our skills and professionalism in metal and plastic processing.
The Limena (PD) office covers 42,100 square meters of covered area and 86,000 square meters of uncovered area, the Modugno (BA) branch has a covered area of 5,500 square meters and an uncovered area of 17,000 square meters.
Technology
WHAT OUR VESSEL LOOKS LIKE
All our pots are produced in our Italian factories by means of rotational molding technology. Rotational molding is a high-temperature, low-pressure manufacturing process that uses heat and biaxial rotation to make monolithic plastic objects.
THE ROTATIONAL MOLDING PROCESS CONSISTS OF FOUR DISTINCT STEPS:
- Loading of the mold with the polymer (usually powder) and closing it.
- Heating of the mold inside an oven while the mold is rotated around two perpendicular axes until all the polymer has melted adhering to the mold walls.
- Cooling of the mold and solidification of the material. This is done by jets of cold air and/or water.
- Extraction. When the mold inside the mold is sufficiently rigid and cold, the moving portion of the mold is lifted up and the mold is pulled out. The part, which exactly reproduces the internal architecture of the mold, is ready for finishing.

Sustainability
ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY FOREVER
We also use clean, renewable energy for our production processes thanks to our two photovoltaic systems. At the Limena (PD) site, solar panels cover an area of about 8,500 m2 producing around 1,000,000 kW per year, while at the Modugno (BA) site, the area covered by solar panels is about 5,000 m2 with a production of 500,000 kW per year.
Rotational molding. the technology used in the production of Twentyfirst vessels. Our plants are equipped with energy recovery systems that minimize energy consumption while respecting environmental ethics. In addition, production waste and scraps are fed back into the production cycle with a reduction in waste.
At the end of their life cycle, our pots, by means of proper and responsible recycling, can be 100% recycled and transformed into new objects, entering a virtuous circle of sustainable consumption. Why all of us together can do a lot.

Quality
QUALITY HAS ALWAYS BEEN A CORPORATE PRIORITY
Our Corporate Quality System ensures constant monitoring of internal activities, both process and service.
The Quality objective is pursued day by day, in the various daily activities, through the rigorous engineering techniques adopted in design, raw material acquisition, attention to the processing cycle and final testing.
Quality is also and above all accurate customer service, an increasingly important added value. Because our Customer's satisfaction is our greatest satisfaction.
The Quality of the people working in the company is equally important. Staff training and professional careers are continuously followed and improved through training courses at all levels, from production staff to management, conducted both internally and at external institutions.
Certifications
Elbi is ISO 9001 certified, and the company's Quality System is constantly evolving due in part to the process of technological innovation that constantly improves product quality.
Official recognition of the goodness of our products is one of the essential pre-requisites we set from the design stage.
